    2. The Dynamite explosion of 1950.
    3. Restoration of the Historic Webb-Blessing House
    4. It is all About the Rivers
    5. John Yates Beall’s contributions to Jefferson County

  • The annual summer picnic which takes place on the lawn of a historic home of the County. The picnics have been held at 51 locations in Jefferson County since 1969.

  • For several years the Historical Society has been offering a summer seminar on the Civil War in Jefferson County. This has been on a hiatus for two years and now plans are moving forward for the summer of 2023. There are various speakers during the day and usually an onsite visit hosted by the owner. Frequently teachers get credit for attending and the program is open to the public for a small fee.

  • The JCHS has set up a table at the County Fair to give out brochures and share information about the historical society.

  • We have also manned a table at WV days and the Charles Town Farmers Market.
